Browse All TopicsI have a user that wants a good video capture card / program that will work with a laptop/desktop. The use will be to capture a feed (most likely composite , but could include usb). The catch is the feed will be routed from the laptop screen to a smartboard, and then a projector. The software drivers on the laptop are for the Smartboard. The way I understand it any app. (even a web cam window connected via usb) can be sent to the smartboard and then projector and marked up by the smartboard if it (source) is running on the laptop. Anytthing "running on the laptop" can be captured by the smartboard and edits (marker, highlight) applied. My guess is that a video camcorder, or dvd player would be the most common item to capture. Many times they will just use a local video file played on the laptop without catching an outside source. Once on the laptop screen it will be fed via VGA port to the smartboard, then projector. The dvd player can not go direct to the Smartboard, it has to be fed to the laptop for the "drivers" to allow markups. The user has advised me the smart device is a Sympodium.
Thanks

I dont have experience with this Sympodium, and live streaming ie capturing and broadcasting in one action, this would require lots of processsor speed as the capture would have to render on the fly.
I looked up the Synpodium

the Sympodium can Capture your work?
As this is a laptop you'll need to use USB capture but it saves to hard disc first
