I found the setting, it is a 'port' setting that must be changed.

Browse All TopicsI have Adobe Acrobat v5.0.5 and want to create PDF files using the 'Distiller' printer driver without entering the file name each time. I have found the check box to eliminate having to enter the file name but the resulting PDF file always is saved to my desktop. How do I change the default folder for this file?

By default, Distiller appends the extension .pdf and places the file in the PDF
Output folder in your Acrobat folder. You can configure Distiller to ask you for a
location when it creates PDF files. See Setting Distiller preferences for details.
