Automate Quickbooks Payroll
Here is the challenge: I have a client in the restaurant business. They have specific restaurant software that they use for their restaurant operations. They want to use Quickbooks for their accounting which includes payroll. I can extract the employees' time and tip information from their restaurant softwate with no problem The challenge is how to get this information into Quickbooks Payroll without having to manually key the information. I don't think The Quickbooks SDK will work because it doesn't give me access to payroll. The SDK will allow me to automate the hours worked portion but I can't figure a way to get the tip information in.

You cannot transfer payroll data. QuickBooks has the majority that information 'locked' security reasons. I believe my company is the only one out there that can leave payroll in a file, due to the way we do Data Archives/Data Clean Ups.
If you are creating a new file, you will be able to enter YTD payroll information. http://tinyurl.com/kmxffe is a link to how to set up employee YTD during setup. (I hope you can read it better than I can. The page seems to be loading wierd.)
