The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

Linking Project Server 2003 and Project 2003 Professional

I am new to Project Server 2003 and Project 2003 Professional. My customer has been using Project 2003 Standard on a single client computer for their Home Building Business and has many .mpp files created.

I recently installed a 2003 SBS w/exchange for them and have successfully installed Project 2003 Server onto it using a 51page guide titled "Project Server 2003 on SBS 2003 - Courtesy of Chris Jones - All rights reserved by the Author" This guide was perfect and have Project Server 2003 running perfectly in conjuction with EXCHANGE and sharepoint services. I do understand that it is not recommended to install Project 2003 Server on SBS 2003, but this guide allowed the installation perfectly and the extended ENTERPRISE features of Project 2003 is not something that is needed.

What we need is to allow the existing client who is using Project 2003 Standard (I upgraded this client to 2003 PROFESSIONAL) to be the Administrator, as she already does the creation and management of all the Project files. Any additional users will use Project Web Access to view and add to the existing data that the administrator has created in Project Professional 2003

The QUESTION:
How do I import these existing .mpp files into Project Server 2003 so that they can be view and manipulated with Project Web Access and syncronize with the single Project 2003 Professional data that the administrator puts in.
