MS Project: Simple Gantt chart- How to have different color to a bar

Createing a Project in MS Project 2003. I want to have RED on first 30% of the horizontal bar , Black to next 50% and Green in last 20%. This is pretty standard for all the horizontal bar, I mean all the bar will have pretty similar color with similar percentage.

Any help?

While conditional formatting of Gantt Bars is possible based on meeting a criteria, each bar is treated as a single object and as such I dont believe you can divide each bar into sections to color separatelybased solely on the amount of the bar.

Can I ask what your purpose is in doing this?

thanks.. here is my purpose/what I want to do:

All I need one bar for my each task, each task is divided by 3 part, 30% Designing, 50% Manufacturing and the rest 20% is Shipping. This is standard for every task I enter. That's why I was thinking to put some color on the task bar to distinct each process instead of creating subTasks.

How about this: I will enter Start Date and I will enter Duration/End Date, I sould be able to see subtasks with the percentage above?

Is there anyway to automate this? Each task I'll enter should autometically get those sub tasks?
