I have MS Project 2007 with Project Server and Project Web Access. I have created various projects using MS Project 2007, Added Resources, Assigned Task and Published in the Project Server. My resources are able to login to the PWA and enter the time sheet and the project leaders/manager are able to review and prrove the time sheet. My question is how can I take summary of the timesheet, Resource-wise and Task-wise so that I can analyse the data collected as timesheet. I have tried the MS Project Report Pack for MS SQL Reporting Services - Timesheer Audit Report, but does not seems to show the right information. Please let me know is there any way in MS Project 2007 where I can take a visual report or a plain flat report.

Received no response for my query. Can anyone please tell me how the timesheet captured using the project web access is used by the Project Manager for taking reports or any other analysis. Any help is appreciated.

I would like to have very basic analysis / audit reports such as:
1) Resource-wise / Project-wise reported hours / Activities
2) Project Manager wise resource time sheet audit reports
etc. The second one is available in the Reports pack of Microsoft Project 2007, but does not seems to be working as expected.

Take in mind, that reporting services always will create two dimension reports or simple aggregated data. If you want to collect three dimensional reports, you have to use analysis services (cubes = pivot tables like reports). As project server stores the worked time information associated with the assignments, they have to be aggregated again into groups.
With anlysis services you can create a table, which contains (i.e.) the resource names in the column, the project name in the line, and the aggregated worked hours in the data field. Doing so, you can see, which resource has reported which hours on which project., including line and column summaries.

Thank you for the reply. I will definitely try the Cubes and it definitely will be of great help. But to start with even the two-dimensional / simple aggregate data would be fine. Is the 'Timesheet Audit' report in the reports pack the only option? Is there anyway I can get a report on the reported hours against each activities by the resources from MS Project 2007 itself or PWA ?
The problem with reports pack is that I have installed MOSS with the default option of OFFICESERVERS instance of SQL 2005 Express Edition and Project Server is also using the same SQL. I am really not sure whether to install the Reporting as well as analysis services on top of this on the same box. I tried with SQL RS and AS on a seperate box but not able to connect to the OFFICESERVERS instance of the MOSS server (I have done the surface configuration, still not connecting). Now I might have to move the SQL Experss to SQL Standard. Or is there any other way

Analysis Services are include from SQL Server Standard and higher. Reporting Serives are supported from all Version but do not include the Report Generator in the Express Edition. You can install a new SQL Server instance includis AS beside SQL Express. To use this instance with Project Server, you have to set it up by hand, at least the initial connection agreement. If Project Server is installed on a full SQL server, the setup is done by Project Server.
The Report Pack is nothing else that a preset (templates) of Reports für Report Server. You can create your own reports with any available Tool, i.e. SQL Server Report Builder or Visual Studio. These reports can be added to any Report Server instance. Means, you can create the reports on every machine as long as the data is available there (maybe da data image).
Project Server should be installed on a full SQL Server so you can use the Analysis services. The initial preset is done by Project Server and the decribed cubes should be available by the default cube set.
SQL Express is available remote as long as it is not the windows internal database. This is a special version and only available via named pipes. As far as the database is accessable remotely (via TCP/IP), you can use the MS Project Server internal Accounts or an admin account to get access to the MSP database.
If it is windows internal database, you should move to a normal standard instance of SQL to get full functionality.
