Question

PWA - Project Workspaces - missing columns on Risks and Issues

Asked by: netIP

I have a problem on a PWA site.

The problem is on Project Workspaces on any new created workspace
we have the list Issues and the list Risks.

The two lists i missing some content (not showing it as default) - only titel is shown as default.
yes i know that i can set Allow managment of content types, and add alle the missing coulums. but then i have to do this on every new Project Workspace

Is it possible to correct this, and how? (whitlout loss of the exsisting project workspaces)
So that new workspaces is showing the content correctly.

I'm assuming this is for PRoject Server 2007: your screenshot looks like Sharepoint 2007.

1. First check to see if there are more than one template listed as options to use when creating a Project Workspace (PWA-> Server Settings -> Project Workspace Provisioning Settings)
If there are, then try changing to a different template and create a new workspace (you may need to publish a test project for this.) and see if that resolves the problem for the new workspace.
2. If there is only only one template listed in the Provisioning Settings page then you have two options:
2.A You can modify the template back to what it should be like. If you choose to do this, be careful as you edit the template. Some fields are connected by UID to Project Server and should not be deleted:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms503640.aspx
2.B You can work with Microsoft support to restore the default template.

Hope this helps...

Hi jbfraser.

there is 2 templates listed in the Provisioning settings page.
1: Microsoft Office Project Workspace
2: a new template build on Microsoft Office Projet workspace.  -under Collaboration.

Tried the new template,  the result is the same, the fields are missing.

The fact that there are two templates listed suggests that someone was trying to modifiy the Project Workspace template. Those changes may be causing this problem. I suppose you might be able to copy the template from another install of Project Server, but I haven't done that, and I'm not sure if there are any tricks, or if you can just follow some web instructions to copy a template.

This sounds like a job for Microsoft...

Hi jbfraser.

Im sorry forgot to mention that the other template was one i created.

I have now solved the problem.

1: The Project server is in a fram, and there was not insalled MOSS on the project server.
2: Created a new template, modifyied risks and issues with managment of contents types.
3: Saved as template
4: changed the pwa to use this new template.

And then it works.
