The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Recommendations on Customer History Tracking and scheduling?

Hello Experts,

Here is my scenario.  I have a small computer repair shop with 2 employees and am planning on bringing on a few more technicians.  I currently schedule customers that call in via a basic paper calendar in my shop and am finding it difficult to coordinate with technicians that are on the road since at times all of us may be on-site with a customer at different locations.

I am looking for recommendations on a software solutions (hopefully online) that allows me to schedule appointments for individual technicians but still allows us to view the schedule/ calendar in its entirety.  Meaning every technicians can look at all appointments on the calendar/ schedule.  In addition whenever a new appointment is scheduled the software solution will notify via text message or email that specific technician that a new appointment has been scheduled for them.

Since I have a few technicians appointments may overlap on a specific time.

Lastly, I want to know if anybody has any recommendations on a tracking system for every customers repair history.  Ideally, I would like to pull up a customer by name/ address/ or other identifier and see their entire repair history including cost, comments, etc.  i.e.:

John Smith
09/12/08 - Motherboard was replaced - $89.99
10/25/09 - Removed Virus from home desktop - $49.99
11/03/09 - Assisted with setting up iPhone with their home wireless network - $39.99

I have one limitation to the solutions.  They can not be public such as Google Calendar, etc.  We may have PII information and do not wish to publish the information.

Any recommendations are appreciated.
