Which piece of Microsoft software are you using? What do you mean by a "custom column"?

I am using MS Project. I would like to update the Date1 column with the date the line was modified. I would also like to add the system person who modified the record in the Text1 column but this is less of a priority.
I'm embarrassed that I didn't recognize that you were using MS Project. I've never used it but I did some Googling and found this. Is it of any help?
