COUNT DISTINCT FUNCTION

Hi

I am trying to count the distinct occurances of a variable (in this case a date) from a colum in excel.

I have a data string in column A consisting of dates (1st - 31st May) but they are not unique, ie each date has more than one row of data and some dates are not present (no data taken for these).  How do I count the distinct occurances of each date.

eg if I had 150 rows for data between the 1st and the 3rd May the distinct count would be 3.
