EXCEL 2000 - Max number of characters in a cell

Asked by vdesai_8 in Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet Software, Databases Miscellaneous, MS SQL Server

Tags: Microsoft, Excel, 2000

As per http://www.dbforums.com/archive/index.php/t-970380.html
the  Length of cell contents (text) : 32,767 characters. Only 1,024 display in a cell; all 32,767 display in the formula bar.

I have a sql server 2000 table with text datatype. but when I copy the contents of this column into the excel cell, I can only see 8193 characters in the cell. The remaining data gets truncated.

please advise how can I make the excel cell display 32767 characters.

Thanks in advance.
