Excel converts csv info to scientific notation, this is not wanted

Asked by SGyves in Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet Software, Microsoft Applications

Tags: , , ,

I have created a custom list of coupon codes using hexadecimal numbers and saved them to a csv file.

When I open or import the csv file to Excel 2007 it takes the hexadecimal numbers which contain the letter 'E' and converts them to scientific notation, which breaks the structure of the code and makes it unusable for the customer because the database no longer recognizes the code.

Is there any way to stop Excel from doing this unwanted conversion?

Thank you for any help,
