The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Excel 2K, navigation to cells blocked

Asked by RichNH in Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet Software, Spreadsheet Software

I have an Excel 2K workbook.  It has a tab on it with several pivot tables.  There seems to be an issue with this tab in that I'm seeing this:

1)  There is a drop down arrow in a blank cell which used to contain a page selection criteria.  The page criteria used to have two fields in it, I changed it to just have one.  The second criteria went away and the pivot table works OK but the drop down arrow bitmap object for the second field that was eleiminated never went away.  It more of an annoyance thing than anything else.

2) THIS IS THE SERIOUS PROBLEM - I cannot navigate to any cell below row 31 or past column AK.  This is something I just discovered this morning.  I cannot click on any cell outside that range and I cannot use the arrow keys to scroll outside of that range.  Page down doesn't work either.  AND I just discovered that this issue exists on some other sheets in this workbook too.  I'm starting to get the impression that the person who created this workbook did this deliberately (which I hope is the case).  How do I undo these blocks so that I can navigate freely?  At least one sheet that has the blocks on where I can scroll to doesn't have any pivot tables on it but it does have some charts on it.

Addendum:  I just figured out I can go to a cell outside the blocked range by typing the cell address into "The Name Box" on the formula bar.Start Free Trial
