error delete record in sql 2005 express using excel VBA

hello to the expert,
I have a connection that work for load data, addnew & edit but not for delete.
see attached error file
  Dim sql As String
  Dim DBcn As ADODB.Connection
  Set DBcn = New ADODB.Connection
  Dim rst As ADODB.Recordset
  Set rst = New ADODB.Recordset
  Set DBcn = ConnectSql
  rst.CursorType = adOpenDynamic
  rst.LockType = adLockPessimistic
  sql = "select * from TAlerts where mmitem = " & Me.ComboBox1 & ";"
  rst.Open sql, DBcn
  If Not rst.EOF Then
    rst.Delete
    rst.Update
  End If
  rst.Close
  Set rst = Nothing
  DBcn.Close
  Set DBcn = Nothing
  Please advise.
