The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Fill Form in spreadsheet based on variable data in separate spreadsheet

Asked by valmatic in Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet Software, VB Database Programming

Tags: ,

Hi.  I've done a lot of Access work but am not very familiar with Excel beyond the basics and forget about Excel programming.  I have a user that imports data into a spreadsheet each month and then creates a summarized pivot table, complete with some calculations, within the same workbook.  He then manually types this summarized data into a 3rd party form, which can then be sent out externally.
For various reasons we can't cut out all of the steps in this process but I thought it might be possbile to create a form in excel that we could force to auto populate based on the data in the pivot table.  I need a separate form for each summarized record.
Any other ideas on how to handle, within Excel would be appreciated but here's my idea and I need to know it's possible and how to do it:   I created the form within the same workbook for now, though I may separate if easier.  If a user activates (on-click) a specific cell (CustomerName) then fill the appropriate form fields with the data related to that record.  Each record consists of 7 columns and two rows and this will not change but the number of records could change month to month.  I'm pretty sure I could pull this off in Access but some of the calcs I need to do are more easily achieved with Excel.  Is this possible?  Would I be better off using a database?  Any input would be great...  thanks
