Creating a Unique Drop-Down List with Data Validation

I'm trying to filter a list using a formula, that takes the Numerical Values from a Named Range (List) and either place them in another column (Column C) or used directly with a Data Validation Drop-Down List for user selection. The attached formula will work for TEXT but it doesn't seem to work with NUMBERS generated from a formula (Column A).

As this list is very dynamic, my initial thought was to create a separate column (C) with the filtered numbers, then create a dynamic formula with the DV box.
