The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Word table horizontal border not coloring properly

Asked by WarCrimes in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet Software

Tags: Word VBA Table BorderColor

Please have a look at the attached table and code.  I'm constructing a report in Word from Excel.  The following table is being copied from an Excel file and formatted in Word.  Everything works fine, except for some reason the horizontal border between the two row headers, "Original Accepts" and "Original Rejects", is not taking on the proper color.  The code works fine when the range is dealing with cells in the same row, as can be seen with the column headers.

I've even tried selecting and changing the horizontal border color manually, and it refuses to change color.  The only way I've gotten a different color is via the Draw Table tool on the Tables and Borders toolbar.

Would really appreciate if someone could figure out a way to code this so the color change takes effect.

NOTE:  Have to select the range in the Word object, otherwise the Columns.Count and Rows.Count don't reflect the rng object but the object that contains the rng object, i.e. the Table.
Also, setting the font color only works properly with the selection object, as I believe it's referencing the Columns.Count and Rows.Count, or Start and End, because it would color cells I didn't want colored as well when just using the rng object passed in.

Regards,
WC
