Hi--
I handle the marketing at a company that has a Sharp-MX 4501N Multi-Function Copier.  It's quite the machine, and very costly!  So, in order to save money, I have been experimenting with ways to print our own marketing materials (which I designed in Adobe InDesign).  I managed to figure out how to install the PostScript printer driver, which I was very excited about because I heard that it was supposed to make a big difference...however, I am having some difficulty with the settings while printing.  Here are my primary questions (oh, also, I am using Vista as my OS)
1.) Which option is best- 'let InDesign manage colors' or 'let PS printer manage colors?'
2.) If I choose to let InDesign manage it, I still need to go into the printer setup to choose the paper style, weight, etc.  A book I was reading on the subject said to disable the printer's color management if you choose to use InDesign to manage the colors; however, there is no option for this.
3.) If I choose to let the printer manage the colors, I am faced with all sorts of options that I have no idea what they mean.  For example, 'Source Profile' only lists Srgb, Apple1998, and one other non-applicable one, or none.  Does this matter?  Then there is 'neutral gray' (which I basically understand), 'black overlay', CMYK simulation profile, screening...I tried many combos but just ended up more frustrated and wasting paper and ink.  

So basically, my question boils down to this: how do I get the highest quality output from this device?  I would download the Adobe drivers but they are not available for Vista yet.  Also, I have a HP Pavilion Entertainment PC with one of those "glossy" screens (don't know what they are actually called :), which makes the colors appear way off to begin with.  Sorry, I know this is long, I am just so frustrated by all of this and have spent so many hours working on it....thanks in advance :)
