I want to increase the type sizes and everything scale-related proportionally by 5%
Is there any easy trick to do this?

With the solid arrow tool (moVe) you can control-shift to change the size of everything, but then that deviates from the Character Styles, and essentially you have no more Style control realistically.
It sounds like i just need to let go of the styles and resize the textbox as needed.

Well, you did say you wanted EVERYTHING increased. If you want images and text increased, that's the only way I know to do it.
If you want to do just text and you're using the same font throughout the document:
setup a new paragraph style
Go to Advanced Character formats
Change horizontal and vertical to 105%
Now do the select all and click on the new paragraph style you just made.
If you have more than one font, then you'll need to do more styles. It's not pretty, but it can be faster than changing everything manually.

I guess the best answer to give is that there is no answer to your question. Is there something specific that you need to do with your styles? The only way I can think of reducing your styles by 5% is to go into each one and changing the sizes.
