I went back and found that my most *recent* AI file actually is successfully being placed within an InDesign file. Since at this point I cannot reproduce this issue, I'll declare it "solved."
Main Topics
Browse All TopicsSometimes I cannot successfully place an AI file in InDesign. It appears to go in, but the content is invisible. I've tried changing layer settings, but so far have no success. My workaround is to produce a PDF from the AI file, and place that. This has worked, but of course requires extra steps. Any tips would be appreciated.

You really need to give us more information about the files that you are placing, maybe even posting several examples for us to look at. It could be a number of different things and without more info its hard to say.
