Matthias,
Do you have any idea on the price range for this sort of thing?
Both Adobe & Quark are very secretive.
Thanks

For example: A user may login and mark a number of stories, pictures, and misc other information that they want to be printed by a professional printer.
The user might select from a particular layout or theme.
Then, ideally, whatever technology we use should accept this data (that the user selected), insert it into the graphical layout, and output a PDF.
Then, this PDF could be sent off to a professional printer.
I suspect that Adobe Indesign or some combination of Adobe products may be ideal for this, but I just don't know very much about it.
Thanks in advance for your time.

Hi, hamlin,

one possibility is to create your templates in QuarkXPress and then use QuarkXPress Server to
- render JPGs out of them (for screen display until the user is happy with the result)
- render PDF out of them (for printing)
You can script or code to customize QuarkXPress Server or simply use URL conventions to make it do what you want it to do.
