I have installed Auto CAD 2007 on a client systems and I am using folder redirection on 2003 server to redirect Application Data to local system. When we run Auto CAD it comes to 98% very quickly and then takes 5 to 10 min to complete loading from then on. It I disable the network, it is loading normally( less than half a minute) without any changes to the settings of Auto CAD. A local user account is also able to load it normally. The only problem is with roaming user accounts. How can I solve this problem so that roaming users can access Auto CAD quickly.

The first thing you mentioned is template. As I already mentioned I've maintained all the Application data, and therefore the template on the local systems only through folder redirection. The second thing is that it is not starting automatically, it is being manually started by user. The other important thing is that it is loading up to 98%very quickly and then the real mess up starts. Kindly consider this scenario.

Application data is one thing but the templates are in the Acad folder C:\Program Files\AutoCAD 2000i\Template. I am using AutoCAD 2000i so you would look for your particular version.

Obviously, something is not loading. At could be a menu, a palette, or a drawing file, etc. It is difficult to tell without knowing your startup sequence. Something to try: startup AutoCAD and let it go until it calls up a file. Now press the F2 key. There should be a text file log - scroll backwards and look at the log entries as the file loaded. You may get a clue about what is not being found.
Sometimes this happens if you have a network printer defined in Windows that doesn't exist any more.
For some reason, AutoCAD polls the printers on startup, and Widows can take a long time to decide that a printer isn't there.
Check all your printer connections, and remove any that don't exist any more.

AutoCAD alway starts up with a template file. Verify it has the correct path to the template. Otherwise it must search through several paths looking for it.
Roaming profiles are another matter. Check that your user profiles are not extreme large (we try to keep them below 100Mb or so on our system). When the majority of people on our system are logging in things get real slow. So you need to check if it is really AutoCAD or loading of profiles that slow things down.
Also, I would not recommend having AutoCAD start automatically. It is better to have the users log-on and start AutoCAD manually.
