I have migrated a Windows 2000 Server image to different hardware. The image runs AutoDesk License Manager for AutoCad 2002 workstations on the LAN.
Workstations are now getting an error relating to licensing.
I have had a look at the license file and I can see that the MAC address of the NIC is included. Have made a copy of the license file and tried updating the MAC address using notepad - although the format of the license file looks fine - when you view through that crap utility LMTOOLS the Ethernet address appears to be duplicated and is enclosed in quotes e.g. "001d7d4ef5 001d7d4ef5f4" in the battery.lic file the Ethernet address is only entered once.
I have tried another text file editor but with the same result, it appears that a 'special' editor is required to update the file.
The Version of LMTOOLS is v7.1f - I mention that because it does not work very well either on the original machine (which I still have at the moment) nor the new box. The only tabs that work are: Service/License File and System Settings ... selecting any other tab like Server Status or Server Diagnostics causes LMTOOLS to abend.
The customer no longer has maintenance with AutoDesk and is reluctant to do so as the quote is prohibitive. I need to try and resolve this issue myself.
