I have been running AutoCAD for several years and have no problems with it. However, several other programs on my computer will give me the installation dialog for AutoCAD when I try to open them. I have to hit CANCEL 4 or 5 times, depending on the program, before the messages go away and let the program start.
The message is from the Windows Installer. It seems to be looking for the AutoCAD2008InstallImage, on an unavailable network resource. Several 'cancels' begins installation, which tells me that I need a CD-ROM. Several more cancels bring me the first Install dialog, and then the program appears.
What is going on, and how can I fix it?
