The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

AutoCAD 2008 Datalink usage with Excel hosted by Citrix

Asked by AaronIT in AutoCAD Software, CAD & Architecture Software, Citrix

Hello.

I currently am in urgent need with CAD help.  Currently CAD has the ability to integrate with Excel via Datalinks. SO basically i can go up to Draw, table, and have the data pulled\push from\to an Excel Spreadsheet.  So either way you enter the data, either by the spreadsheet or from within CAD both items are updated.

At this point CAD looks for Excel on the local machine and we recieve this error "Creating, editing, and updating data links are unavailable because the following required application cannot be found: - MS Excel"

Our Excel is hosted on a Citrix Server. All of my end users can double click and xls file and it will launch excel with no problems.  I know my excel integration with windows is working properly, however it appears as if CAD can't see Excel.  My understanding is because CAD looks for Excel in c:\Program Files\Microsoft\Office\excel.exe which doesn't exist because of citrix.

How can I change the file it launches as excel to be my citrix path to the file which is "C:\Program Files\Citrix\ICA Client\pnagent.exe" /qlaunch "Microsoft Excel 2007" /param:\\Client\%1

I know it can be done, i'm just not sure how, and Autodesk is updating there website and the support system and forums are currently out of commision.

Thanks in advance.Start Free Trial
