No large paper sizes in Adobe Acrobat Standard 6 print driver

Here is a way to make it work.  Under File, go to page setup menu.

Select:

Layout Settings tab:
Set “Plot Area” to ‘extents’
Set “Plot Scale” to ‘scaled to fit’

Now, if you have a border that fits your A0 or A1 paper size, and have these settings, the PDF file will scale your border, i.e. the extents of your dwg to fit onto the PDF file.  

This is what we do, simply scale borders, and print extents, rather than scaling parts on drawings.  That way, all the parts are drawn 1:1 and it is just the border that is scaled.

Also, acad has other paper sizes in the plot scale that you can select prior to printing the pdf file.  Try both, but the first explnation should work just fine.

If you have paper sizes defined in the print server properties but are not showing up for a certain printer, it usually means that, for whatever reason, those paper sizes are not valid for that printer. I've seen Adobe PDF printers not recognizing some paper sizes if the margins are too small. Try adjusting the margins for the A0 and A1 sizes or create custom paper sizes with the same size as the A0 and A1 and increase/decrease the margin to see if that is in fact the problem. If margins are the problem, then you need to create PC3 file to use in AutoCAD and specify your required paper sizes in the PC3 file. By configuring the PC3 file, you can create PDF of any sizes with any margins.

We use adobe 5 so this may be different.
When I installed it I got 2 different pdf printers, Acrobat distiller and Acrobat pdf writer. I use  acrobat pdf writer, it works better for me. If you select it in your plot dialog and click properties, then custom properties it gives you the option create a custom paper size or select a few that are there. I just make custom paper sizes to fit what I need.
I think this is the same thing that meintsi posted first so if this helps you meinsti should get the points, I'm just letting you know that it works similar in Autocad.

I have Distiller 5.0 and had the same problem  I needed to print 1 to 1 on a D sized sheet and Acrobat wouldn't let me do it.  I needed 1 to 1 so that I could have a printer make a full sized decal.  I ended up printing it 1 to 2 on a smaller sized sheet.  The funny thing was it seemed somewhat hit or miss wether it would print larger.  If you continue to try print to black and white.  I couldn't get a full sized color PDF for the life of me and believe me I tried everything I could for 8 hours and was unable to get it in color.
