Browse All TopicsI'm getting the message "License Status [1.1.98]" when launching Autocad 2006 ... and a statement that I should uninstall and reinstall the app. I've been using Autocad 2006 for months now with no problems. I searched for the message through Google. Based on the Google search I tried the following:
(1) I checked to ensure that I was not running in diagnostic mode (using msconfig) and I was not.
(2) I checked to see if there was a taskdir.dll on my computer that had been associated with a Trojan that had caused the problem ... and there is no such file on my computer.
Does anyone have any insight into this problem? I can uninstall/reinstall the app but would like a better feel that doing so will solve the problem.
Thanks, SL

I have seen the last comment but wanted to comment about a similar issue. I installed Revit 9.0 and received the same warning after I tried to authorize it. I then found this same license error effected my ACAD 2005 installation. I was forced to reload the application and lost all my customization. I am fortunate to have multiple computers that I can turn to in an emergency so it didn't hurt me but was suprised at this error.
I would like to know if more people have had similar problems? I am a little apprehensive to reload this revit app fo rthe problems it had caused me.
PS I loaded this into my laptop because if it wrecked somthing that I would not lose time at work. BE SAFE

If you are installing the program using a script/batch that may not work. I located one comment where the installer had used a script to install previous versions of AutoCAD but the same script (modified) would not work. They were able to do the install manually - their thinking was that AutoCAD is installing something additional but noone seems to know what it is.
If you are able you might want to check with a reseller engineer if you have access to one.
Also, the new programs are very particular about hardware - carefully check the system requirements against what hardware you are running. There is a list of approved hardware. If you need help locating the requirements let me know. Seems like most of those issues involved video card combinations.
Hope this helps, will check back later,
