Convert .eps to .dxf or .dwg; Import to CAD

We have recently updated our logo and our designer provided it in .eps format.  We will need to use the logo in CAD and obviously it would be preferable to preserve the vector format instead of converting to .jpg or .tif.  I've heard it is possible to convert the .eps to a .dxf format (or if can be imported directly to CAD somehow that would be good to).  Using AutoCAD Map 3D 2007.  I have Acrobat 8 Pro but not illustrator or PhotoShop (although would have access to these organizationally).

Haven't tried it, but you might be able to use GIMP to convert it.

Hi Bradley

GIMP or PhotoShop will rasterize the image so you lose the vector properties. You will need to keep it in a drawing package such as Illustrator. Illustrator provides native conversion via File SaveAs into SVG and PDF, both vector formats that you can possibly use .

Thanks -- waiting for someone with a copy of illustrator to try it.  Do you know if illustrator can export direct to .dxf?  Looks like there may be some svg2dxf programs out there if not.

Hi

I had a quick look at File|Export in Illustrator CS2 and dwg is a standard option to export to. I have not got AutoCAD to test it though.
