The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Receiving "FATAL ERROR: Unhandled [HEX] Exception at [Memory Location]" error when plotting/printing

Asked by methodology in AutoCAD Software, CAD & Architecture Software

Experts,

I work at an environmental consulting firm where I have several very annoying endusers that use AutoCAD 2007 on a daily basis.  Out of the blue one day, many of them starting experiencing a problem while plotting where they get a message box error and AutoCAD abruptly closes (however the drawing still manages to plot).  The error basically states "FATAL ERROR: Unhandled [Hex] Exception at [Hex]" (the specific message I think varies from user to user, e.g. "FATAL ERROR: Unhandled c000000dh Exception at 7817a1c8h").

All my printer/plotter mappings in Windows are completely valid and work out of other programs (e.g. ArcGIS, MS Office, etc.).  The PC3 files were generated using the current printer/plotter mappings.  I haven't messed with the plot styles or PC3 files--and I don't think they've been corrupted but I can't say I'm completely sure (my endusers have found out where I secretly kept these files on the network and have opted to map to the network location rather than the versions that are copied locally via a login script).    The fact that it happened out of the blue and it only occurs in AutoCAD suggests it could be a PC3 file problem but perhaps a Windows update could be the issue here.

So perhaps if nobody has heard of/experienced this problem, is there a way to validate a PC3 file?
