Access properties of actions within a dynamic block, from Model Space

I am using AutoCad 2008 LT and have dynamic block with a Linear parameter that in turn has an Array action attached to it. I would like to change the Column Offset of the Array Action without having to open the dynamic block.

How can I access the properties of the Array Action from Model Space without having to open the dynamic block?

Alternatively, can I link the Column offset to a linear grip along with the array so that I change it dynamically along with everything else?
