Unable to import a .dxf file into autocad

We have some software that can export to a dxf file in order that it can be imported into autocad.  
I can view the exported .dxf file correctly in free dxf viewers but autocad cannot open it.

I have attached an example .dxf file in the hope that someone here will be able to tell me why it cannot be imported into auto cad.  
a dxf attachment was not allowed here, so i changed the extension to .txt first, so please remember to put it back to .dxf before testing.
