How to convert CDR files directly to PDF without saving to AI first?

I work in a personalization department and create proofs for customers using Corel X3. The proof files are created  as a CDR which I then save in Corel X3 as an AI file after I open it in Adobe Illustrator I then have to save as an PDF. I want to be able to convert CDR to PDF and skip the extra step.

If you are using a MAC, Print>Create PDF

If you have Adobe Acrobat Pro then it should come with distiller and you can print as a PDF.

I need to create a virtual not physical proof to email the customer of what their logo will look like on the product we are providing. In order to create the proof much time is needed I have to import the logo to my product template file, position it save the cdr then save as ai open ai open the ai file I just created then save as pdf attach pdf file of logo in an email and send to the sales coordinator. I would like to skip the ai part of this all together and just save cdr to pdf and be done with it.

I heard about this conversion program thumbsplus but not sure if it is what I am looking for.

I understand that you need a virtual proof. If you are using a MAC, anytime you print, a dialog box appears. There should be an option in the print dialog box to "create pdf." This won't actually print the file, but will instead prompt you to save the file as a PDF.

If you are using a PC and have adobe acrobat professional installed, there should be a virtual printer named "adobe pdf." If you print the "adboe pdf" rather than a physical printer, you will be prompted to save the file as a PDF.

You can also try to import the CDR file into an open source vector art program and export it as a PDF.
