I am about 99.9999999% sure there is no way to do this. Even if you use a PDF as MHenry suggested (and a good suggestion too, don't get me wrong), it can be altered by the end user via various software.

Browse All TopicsHello, is it possible to protect an illustrator .ai and/or .eps file so that when it (such as a company logo) is sent to 3rd parties, they cannot modify any of the properties of the original, but still be able to use it in their process?
Just curious if there is an easy way.
thank you.

Bong Soo,
Yes, a pdf can be manipulated, but if it's a complex logo the chances of them being able to significantly alter it are small. Especially if it's text covered by a swirl or something. I was assuming bbdude doesn't want them to infringe on his work. Of course, it could be that he just doesn't want them resizing it in which case you're right, PDF isn't much better.
By the way, I got that other 0.00000001% you're missing. There's no image that can't be manipulated in one way or another.
Best,
MH

bbdude,
I don't know of any way to protect those file types but why not send them a PDF? You can password protect it and it prints well. The only thing you would need to do is get the size large enough.
I know it's not perfect, but it may work for you.
Best,
