Browse All TopicsI am trying to create a checkerboard within the perimeter of a shape. For example I wish to make a checkerboard the shape of a circle. as such, I first create a grid which is the checkerboard. Then I create a circle on top of the grid. I can do what I wish using the make clipping mask command but the only problem with that is the portion of the CB which falls outside the circle's perimeter is also sent to my plotter. So what I end up with is a big CB with a circle cut inside of it. Instead, i wish to completely delete the portion of the CB which falls outside the Circle. The only way I can do that is to use the scissor tool to manually cut the CB's lines that are on the outside of the Circle. There must be a way to make the program do what I wish. Thank you

Hi
if you open the Transform palette SHIFT +F8 and use the Crop option from the pathfinder tab. That does it.
But you need to place the Circle in front of the CB and have all elements of the CB grouped.
