Hello,
I am on a windows machine.
I am trying to use the registered trademark symbol in a text box in photoshop
Can someone please tell me how to do this?
What I have tried so far:
I have attempted to go to the charmap program and copy the symbol from the 'symbols' font.
I can then paste the symbol into Word or Wordpad but when I attempt to paste the symbol into a text box in Photoshop, the symbol comes out as a screwy looking 'O'.
Any ideas?

NOTE: I could not get this to work using the normal number keys. BUT, when I used the numpad on my computer, then it worked.
Lastly, how can I find out the number I am supposed to use for the symbol? When I look up the symbol using the 'charmap' utility, I don't see any such number. Is there another way?

ALso, as an alternative, in Photoshop, there is a ® symbol you can use. You have to select Custom Shape Tool (it is grouped with the line tool, rectangle tool, etc.), and then on the top toolbar, you should see the "Shape:" settings. Select the drop down to see all the shapes. The registered trademark symbol is a default shape in the list.
Select it, and then on the canvas, drag your most to make the symbol the size you want. (Hint: hold the shift key to keep it proportional while you drag the mouse).
BTW: ALT - 0174 should work as WEED pointed out.

The font youre using may not have a character for ®. Try using other fonts in photoshop and see if that works. Do you know the keyboard shortcut for the symbol? If so just type it directly into photoshop. ALT-0174 should work for windows.
