Yep, rook is right. Although any watermark is removable depending on the size and complexity of the watermark.--there is some code you can use to not allow to people to save the images, but you can always print screen and grab it off the web.- So i'd say make a decent size watermark mabye 1/3 of the image, can be a single color but is pretty transparent.(you might want to add several different shades of the single color throughout the watermark(like shadowing or something.)-makes it more difficult to paint out.

If you put jpg files up on the internet that are watermarked, people wont be able to remove them as it is all on one 'layer', but if you put up the psd file, they will be able to as it is just sitting on a layer...
