I wrote some text with a black Sharpie on white paper. I scanned it as a .jpg and then opened it in Photoshop. I used Corels Knockout to pull/knockout the text from the background. I then created a new layer that was white. I then went and applied a drop shadow to the text. I dont see the dropped shadow.

Can this be done with scanned text?
