Photoshop will not let me open any file. It says that there is not enough RAM.

I am using a demo of Photoshop CS3. It was working fine 10 min ago but now it says that there is not enough RAM when I try to open a file (the file that I want to open is only 36k). I am using a p4 w/2Gig of memory. Task manager says that I have 1.7G free.Start Free Trial
