There is no reason why it shouldn't run on SP2, I am not sure where you have this from but for CS4 minmum is SP2:

I'm running if fine on sp2.
I think they say sp3 as it is the latest sp with all the latest tweaks and performance patches etc.

They say clearly that SP3 is recommended.
Also I heard that if you install it on a Windows XP SP2, you will have a warning message that you do not have SP3 or Vista, and should upgrade.

So do yo all confirm that it will run without any problem on my SP2 ?

Thank you.

@captainreiss:
this link concerns Illustrator CS4, however I'm talking about the whole master collection.

KouKi, I am running master collection on sp2 and did not get any error messages when installing.
The install does take a long time but that's Adobe for you.
The below link is to the system requirements page for the master collection. As I said in my previous comment.

"I think they say sp3 as it is the latest sp with all the latest tweaks and performance patches etc."

Anyway, here is the link:

Sorry, you've looked at this link. Remember it does say 'recommended' , not required.

Kouki

as per sledge's comment, all of Master collection conforms to the minimum requirement for one of its constituent parts.

The issue of SP3 is mainly because as SP3 is available for free and as Adobe will need tos upprt this that they want everyone to be on the latest platform.

You seem to have objections to upgrading yourself, as may many others but there are no reasons why you shouldn't buy CS4 with SP2.

Especially if you wanted to upgrade to Vista or 7 in the future you want to have CS4 for compatibility reasons.
