Right click on Letter 'T' in the toolbox and u'll see the options Horizontal Type Tool and Vertical Type Tool for horizontal letter spacing

After selecting the Text Tool... click on the last image 'link' on the Top Toolbox : Toggle the Character and paragraph palette and change the option where 8pt and 20 is given in the attached gif.

The keyboard shortcuts are easier to use


select your word

Quickly Adjust Tracking (Space Between Groups Of Letters)
To quickly adjust tracking (the space between groups of letters or entire lines of text) by 20 em, highlight the lines you want to adjust, hold down Alt (Win) / Option (Mac) and use the Left or Right arrow keys on your keyboard:

kerning:
To do the same between individual letters place your insertion point between the letters you want to kern and use the same keystrokes.

Adjust Baseline Shift
To raise or lower the baseline shift by 2 points, hold down Shift+Alt (Win) / Shift+Option (Mac) and use the Up or Down arrow keys on your keyboard:

To raise or lower the baseline shift by 10 points, hold down Ctrl+Shift+Alt (Win) / Command+Shift+Option (Mac) and use the Up or Down arrow keys:

By horizontal spacing I presume you are referring to paragraph line spacing (leading)

The same principle applies except you use the up and down arrow keys  in combination with the alt/option keys.
