Photoshop CS4 instalation error

When I was installing Photoshop CS4 I got a message, almost at the end, saying to insert the disk on the drive...when I had the disk already on the drive. If I make OK the installation didn't continue and still asks me to insert the disk. I've canceled the instalation.

No when I open Photoshop CS4 I get an error saying "Some of the application components are missing from the Application directory. Please reinstall the application.". And I can't open Photoshop, only the other programs from the package.

Does anyone got this problem and was able to fix it? I've searched Google about this and didn't found any solution.

Maybe your installer is a multi part disc or you selected components that is not part of the release or maybe the installer is corrupted.

In any case, contacting adobe to complain about your buy would clear things out.

I have just concluded a four week dialogue with Adobe about installation issues with PS CS4. (It concluded with me reformatting my hard drive and starting over).

I doubt that you will have the same issue.

The very first thing to try is uninstalling the program completely. After bringing up the uninstall dialogue, look for the "Remove Application Preferences" check box on the opening page (Where you select the different components to remove)
Be sure to check that because it also has some of the installation settings.

If you still run into problems, download the CS4 Clean Up Script and try once more.

If you STILL have troubles, post back here and we'll see if we can work them out.

You may have to edit the Registry - on Windows click on Start/Run enter regedit.  Backup your registory before you make any changes.  Search for Adobe and delete any photoshop related keys.  Delete the Program Files/Adobe/Photoshop folder and start over with installation.  I actually had to remove all Adobe products from the registory to get install for CS4 to work.

The CS4 Cleanscript will take care of the Registry. The advantage is that it includes a lot of items with obscure names that you would not know are part of Photoshop, also there a much, much reduced chance of deleting a necessary file if you have other Adobe products ( Acrobat, Flash, etc.) installed.
