Browse All TopicsI have a 146kb .cdr file that I need converted to a more standard image type (.jpg, .bmp, .gif, etc.). I do not have Corel Draw and also do not have the time or resources to download the ~260mb trial from Corel.
Is anyone able to convert it for me and send via email? It is my understanding after much reading and trial and error that this is the only solution without Corel's software.
I am awarding 500 points for this solution as the issue is particularly urgent.
thanks!

to admin Lherrou : are you sure that after installin the Corel Draw file and inserting it in a Word document, saving it to HTML can materialize a JPEG file ? I'm not sure how the conversion will work...
to Merete : using ST Thumbnails Explorer to display and then Windows do to a print screen is really a degraded solution... furthermore, if the picture is bigger than the screen resolution, you have to install a print screen utility to beable to do so.
to mcmillanje : Inkscape does not support Corel Draw files. You often read about Corel+Inkscape because people save their files in SVG, which is not the case of gazman19.
to admin Venabili : XNView can read Corel Files and can convert to any regular file (PNG or JPG), it's free and it is open source.
I recommend a split. There's good material here for anyone with a similar Q, and many of the suggested methods would work.
xandrex: Yes, my method works, Word converts the file to a format usable for Word, and then when you do "Save As" and save it as HTML, it outputs JPG files suitable for a webpage. Try it some time with any non-JPG format (TIF, BMP, etc).

Here's an approach you may want to try:
From Word (or Powerpoint) INSERT-> PICTURE -> FROM FILE
Click on "File of TYPE" and scroll to .CDR (CorelDraw). If it is not listed, you may need to install the filter.
Once it's inserted, you save the document, THEN save a second time as a HTML file, which will expert your image as a GIF or JPG, which you can then use.
Cheers,
LHerrou
