How can I fix the Lag when using Epson Scan Software?

Can someone plase help me with this annoying little problem with Epson Scan software?

I've been using Epson scanners for several years. Every version of Epson Scan has "Lagged" when selecting the masked area in the scan preview window.

This has been the same problem for several generations of Epson Scan software, as well as with different models of Epson scanners.

My system is no slouch, so there should be no lag at all.

I used to have an Epson Perfection 4990 on a different core2duo PC running Windows XP Pro, 2Gb memory, Raptor HDD's etc.

Now I'm currently using an Epson V700 scanner on a newer computer running a quad core extreme chip, 4Gb memory, Vista64, Raptors. etc.

All software is up to date.

The 'lag' is approximately 2 to 4 seconds every time I make an alteration to the size of the mask around an image in the preview pane. The cursor does not change back to it's normal shape and remains the same for several seconds before changing and allowing me to select a different side/corner of the mask to move.

I do literally hundreds of scans of different-sized images during one session, so the lag makes the software very frustrating to use.

I'd really appreciate some helpful suggestions.Start Free Trial
