This is not a small perecptual thing but a huge difference. I have performed a nozzle check on the printer and there are no issues. Also, when i print the same image from lightroom, there is no problem. How can i fix dark printing in photoshop?

Check your print settings...*and* your printer settings. Big changes in color are often because of either double color correction or unsupported profiles. When you print from Photoshop, there is an option to choose whether to use the application to manage colors or to let the printer manage colors.
If you choose to have PS manage color, you need to go into your printer properties (PS print dialogue should have a button to launch the printing properties) and change your settings to allow color management by the application instead of the printer.
If you know that your printer supports specific profiles including the one your image is in, you may wish to let the printer handle the file, so you'd do the opposite--tell PS to let the printer manage color and go into the printer settings and verify that it is set to manage color.
If you have both printer and application set to manage color, they will both make adjustments to the image, resulting in a double color correction (and incorrect color).
I strongly suggest reading this article on Color Management. It addresses your issues and is very thorough. It details Monitor Profiling, Color Settings, and of course Printer Profiling.

Try to find a difference in the way Lightroom and Photoshop is printing.
Also see if your printer is correcting for the color. If it is then its correcting the color after its been corrected by Photoshop.
