Paint Shop Pro has suddenly stopped working.  It will not load.  I checked Task Manager and it shows a Corel process is running however.

Here are my computer spec's:

I have checked the Corel knowledge base, and contacted Corel Support through email.  Of course they were no help whatsoever.  They suggest updating the graphics driver, and uninstalling and re-installing the program.  I have done both, and neither one has helped.  I used Corel's zapps.exe to uninstall, and then searched through the registry and removed any more traces of Corel entries.

I also disabled Norton 360 v.3, and Ad-Aware Pro before installing.   Nothing is working.

The only thing that I can think of that has changed, is that I installed IE8.

Any suggestions?

ASKER

Additional information:  After starting Corel Paint Shop Pro, it shows approximately 10,100K Memory usage in task manager, however, the program never starts.   When I try to start Internet Explorer with this Corel process still running, Internet Explorer will not load either.   When I kill the Corel process in Task Manager then Internet Explorer will load.   I uninstalled IE8 and am using IE7 again and still have the same problem.
can you try system restore?

great news
Well, I'm having the same problem. I tried this solution and it did NOT work. I got a messagebox saying that the attempt to unregister buShell.dll failed with error code 0x80070005

Now what?
