How to put a button on a picture?

Ho,
I just started learning Fireworks.
I would like to put a button on a picture, make it linkable and when hovered over it, it should glow. How to do this?

Way Number 1: Use Flash.
Way Number 2: Use a pretty sophisticated style sheet.

Essentially, you will have to use the image as a background, and put the button over the top of it. Not for the faint of heart...

in macromedia fireworks you have an option of inserting a new button... click on insert>buttons..

U get few button templates there tooo....

after selecting the button double click on the button and then u get few option like onhover, onmouse over etc...

copy paste the same image clicking on each tab an make a slight required difference in the images in each tab...

click on submit and u are done....

then using the slice tool slice the image and export as html page... u will get all button effects converted into jscript there...

Select your Picture
Press F8 or Click Modify » Symbol » Convert to Symbol
Select Type Button
Click OK

Double Click the Image Slice that has now been created or Select the image Click Modify » Symbol » Edit Symbol
You now have an Up | Over | Down | Over while Down | Active Area
Select the appropriate Tab and apply styles to your image for example draw a border around your image
Once you've finished Click Done

You now have a Sophisticated Button Rollover, simply export the image as HTML it will create a page with your button, you can also just press F12 to preview it in a web browser.  To change the URL just select the Slice/Image/Button and type the URL in the Link Field.
