Constantly track object position AS3

I have the code below in a flash movie which is going to be a company timeline.

The slider block automatically slides across the movie ok, however i want the slider position to be contantly traced throughout.

It works if i change it to onEnterFrame and the user drags the slider, however onLoad it obviously only traces once.

How can i get it to trace constantly throughout the whole movie?

Also, it only seems to work if the user drags the slider, if i get it to automatically move using a tween, it doesnt seem to update the text.

I understand this is quite confusing, however a solution to this would be fantastic.

okay this is what i see when i run your file.

first of all there are 2 compile errors, you've place button code in the frame code.
then the slider moves on its own and the trace is tracking it.

am i supposed to be able to drag the slider?

If you remove the tween code, you can drag the slider. What i really want to happen is it play automatically, and if the user grabs it, it stops the tween and the user can drag it.

ok don't have time right now to do it for you. if i get a chance i'll have a look in otherwise i'm sure someone else can assist.

for the time being just put a stop on the tween when you do the drag .

off the top of my head tween.stop()

depends which tween package you're using, if you're using the default one just look in the help file, if not refer to the help docs for that package.
