Playing movies in flash

I am creating an interactive application in Flash 5, I will be using animation created elsewhere which can be in a format of AVI, quicktime.  I cannot import it and get it to play, how do i do this?

I'm not sure if this is what you are talking about but this program will convert your AVI,QT,etc. to flash files.

Yes you need to convert to flash, you can not play avi etc within flash movies. One bonus an avi converted to flash can be smaller.
maybe of interest,did you knnow you can export as quicktime from flash with flash interactivity intact. Quicktime supports a flash layer.

Hi.

You cannot import an AVI or MPEG into Flash. However, you can try and convert it into a series of BMPs, and import it as a sequence.
