on the first interactive part, it uses two GIFs. and uses mouse hovering for the interactivity.. how best to transfer that to flash without the size being too big and no resizing involved?

all the images in this site r drawn on paper > scanned > colored using image ready > exported to flash... file size can reach 800K or more... best way to reduce?

-> if it is animated gif just hit import when in flash > select the gif > hit F8 to convert to symbol > choose animation...  -> If it be a gif with a rolover, import the first part as above, the import into the animation symbol the mouseover gif > select n F8 it > choose button. there are three states up, over, hit and down. you will need to place the gif in the over frame and hit frame. You can modify the hit area to make it animate only when mouse is over that area (anywhere you draw inside it will cause it to go to the over frame when mousovered...

wait a sec... I see what you are getting at. I did the one that says "interactive" and it was OVER 2 mb's...

1 -> You can adjust the quality of images by using the jpeg quality slider under publish settings / flash..
2 -> You could experiment with doing your animation effects in flash instead of importing all those frames of animation...
3 -> You can also tracethe bitmap... but with this amout of color range and keeping good quality this would creat to large a file size... might work on some though...
4 -> you could optmize your gif's in photoshop/image ready...
5 -> You might be beter off with the animated gif's...
