Question

Error during routine save operation or during test movie operation

Okay, I've been dealing with this problem for some time. A little background....
I am the LAN administrator, so this is not a permission issue.

I am developing a FLASH MX 2004 Professional application for our intranet. Almost daily I have to create a new version of the application because when I try to do a routine save or movie test I get the following warning:

"An error occurred while attempting to write to a file. If you are logged in with a limited user account, then you may be attempting to write into another user's folder which is not supported. "

I only have this problem in flash.

I am saving to a network folder (my "Home" folder if you must know). I've also had this problem when saving to my local harddrive, so any suggestions to try saving to the local HD won't solve my problem.

How do I fix this problem?  Is there a patch or something that Macromedia has put out that I'm missing?

Thanks negatyve; what I meant by creating a new version is that I was saving with a new file name. That works all the time. I've never actually lost my work, but having to create 2-3 duplicate files daily is ridiculous.

This could be a time synchronization problem. It makes sense when you look at it from a network administrator's POV, and could also explain why I had problems when saving to the local drive too; the time stamp of the file doesn't match the system clock time (???).

Let me check this tomorrow. If it is a sychronization problem then the points are yours!

negatyve...it happened again. Even after ensuring that the time on my client and fileserver matched. What I did notice, that I have'nt noticed before is that after getting the error and saving the file with a new file name the original file size is about 110% larger than the new file.

I know I don't have a virus because this machine is very well protected.

I'm going to have to leave this question opened until a working solution is presented.

I think the suggestion is that antiviral software may be affecting it - but this particular one I think only refers to fireworks - maybe try switching off av software and trying it...
just a thought.
